Thomas married Margaret Dickey, daughter of John and Phoebe McIntyre Dickey. To this union were born seven children: Mary, Alexander, John, Margaret, Isabel, Hugh and Thomas.
Upon coming to America, he first settled in Londonderry but later removed to Starkstown, now Dunbarton, NH. After his removal, he lived on the farm afterward owned and occupied by his son, John Jameson, and, in later years, known as the "Ryder Place", located about a mile north from the centre of the town and off from the main road to the eastward.
