C.L. was the son of the late Charlie Lee and Lottie Mae Nix Whitley. He was a member of Gray Hill Baptist Church and a US Army WWII veternan.
Survived by wife Marietta Cotton Whitley; children Dottie(Thomas) Henson; Crickett Whitley; Carolyn Foster; Annie (Nick) Simpson; Jack (Peggy) Whitley; Grandchildren brothers David, Earnest, Elbert, and Bob Whitley; sisters Glady McDonald, Alberta Hamilton; and Louise Clark. He was preceded in death by his first wife Edna Sims Whitley; daughter Charelene Beegle.
