Harrodsburg Herald Friday November 26, 1837 Obituary Self: Mrs. Robert Self, 82 years old, died at 11:15 p.m. Thursday night, November 18, 1937, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sam Ison, on the Bohon Hopewell road. She had been in declining health for some time owing to her advanced years. Her long life had been full of good works and her memory will be cherished by those who knew her. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ison, one granddaughter, Mrs. Hugh Springate; a sister, Mrs. Laura Reed and a brother, Will Davenport, all of Mercer county. The funeral was at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, at Grapevine Christian church, near Duncan, conducted by Rev. T. Hassell Bowen, pastor of the Harrodsburg Christian church, burial was in Grapevine cemetery. Bearers were Sam Shewmaker, Oscar Sanders, Worley Reed, Dr. C. W. Sweeney, John Newby and Chas. Sims.
