Velma Viola Madison, age 88, resident of Fort Scott Presbyterian Village, died Friday morning, Sept. 3, 2010, at the Mercy Health Center. She was born Jan. 12, 1922, in Bourbon County, Kan., the daughter of Fred Eugene White and Laura Adeline Higbee White. Velma married Lyle Quick in 1942 at Fort Scott. They later divorced. She married Bill Madison in Arizona who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Charles White and Russell White and two sisters, Nellie Quick and Doris Smith.
