Mary S. Gilbeau, 93, of Lodi died Friday, September 18th, 2009 at Delta Rehabilitation & Care Center. She was born Mary Seibel on July 26th, 1916 in McClusky, N.D. She has resided in Lodi for the past 90 years where she attended local schools and graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1934.
She married Clarence J. Gilbeau in November of 1934, and they made their home in Lodi.
Mrs. Gilbeau worked as a secretary and after retirement enjoyed her family and taking care of her home and yard. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting and embroidery work.
Member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, where she spent many hours doing volunteer work.
Member of Queen of Peace Young Ladies Institute.
Life member of Lodi Boat & Ski Club.
Honoree member of the Lodi Bunch Chapter of Good Sam.
Preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. Gilbeau in 1986 and her son James C. Gilbeau in 1994. Three brothers, Louie Seibel, Charles Seibel and Arthur Seibel. Five sisters, Bertha Fachner, Esther Reimer, Nettie Fleming, Lydia Armenderaz and Leona Nelson.
Survived by two daughters, Barbara (Don) Gini and Susan (Robert) North both of Stockton.
Daughter-in-law, Elda Gilbeau of Lodi.
Seven Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.
One brother, Benjamin Seibel of San Jose and One sister, Martha Plow of Washington and many nieces and nephews.
A vigil service will be held Monday at 7:00pm in the chapel of the Donahue Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30am at St. Anne's Catholic Church.
Visitation will be Monday 1:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in her name to St. Anne's Catholic Church Development Program, PO BOX 480, Lodi, CA 95241 or to the donor's choice.
