Mary Lee Raphael 1933 - 2010 Mary Lee Raphael, age 76, of Reedley, California, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2010. She was born on October 25, 1933 in Sanger, California to Roy and Ethel Phillips. Growing up Mary was active in 4-H and trained guide dogs. Mary graduated from Sanger High School. In 1954 she married David Raphael and had three sons, Brian, Marty and Tom. When Mary was in Bakersfield she worked at the Bakersfield Racquet Club and, later, at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel Gift Shop. After returning to Reedley, Mary was known for her volunteer work. She was named Volunteer of the Year in 2003 by the Reedley Chamber Of Commerce. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ethel Phillips, and sisters, Arlene Austin and Virginia Zediker. She is survived by her sons, Brian and wife Linda of Reedley, Marty and wife Jean of Meridian, ID, and Tom and wife Brenda of Tehachapi, CA; 6 grandchildren, Russell, Amy, Elizabeth, Kathryn, Megan and Taylor; 2 great grandchildren, Kylar and Logan; many loved cousins, nieces and nephews. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 3, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Reedley. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Sanger Cemetery.
