FELTON - J. Richard Steele, of Felton, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at home. He was 70. Mr. Steele was born in Cambridge, Md., to the late Carroll B. and Blanche (Phillips) Steele. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked at Kraft General Foods in Dover in the maintenance dept. for 32 years retiring in 1998. He was Past Master of the Masonic Lodge Temple # 9 in Milford. He enjoyed hunting and farming. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Carol Ann Rentz Steele; two sisters, Virginia Drabbant, and Marilyn Tuxward; and a brother, C. Bradley Steele. He is survived by his two sons, Scott Steele and his wife Lisa and Mark Steele, all of Felton; and three grandchildren, Andrew Crawford, and Jon and Lindsey Steele. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main St., Felton, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Interment will be in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
