"Lester Mims Aderhold, Sr., born June 13, 1927, passed away Monday, June 1, 2010 at his home in Tallahassee, Fla. Les was born in Columbus, Ga., in 1927 to Archie and Ethel Aderhold. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran. He retired from the mobile home business where he was a general manager of mobile home factories. After retiring, he opened a mobile home park off Sullivan Road, where he lived until his death. He loved saltwater fishing, especially for king mackerel at Mexico Beach, where he had a second home. His family has many happy memories of the time spent at the beach, fishing with him, and riding in his boat 'Raeles'. He also loved restoring old cars. He spent most days with his son, Richard, at his shop talking about and restoring old cars. He was said to be 82 going on 18. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rae Jean Dixon Aderhold; his sons, Lester Mims Aderhold, Jr., Richard Keith Aderhold and wife Roni; and daughters, Virginia R. Aderhold, Angela Cope and husband Guy, Allison R. Townsend and husband Alan. Les had six grandchildren: Kacie and Rachel Aderhold, Alana, Shane, Gage and Cam Townsend. He also left behind 2 brothers and 1 sister. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters. He will be cremated and wanted his family to hold a memorial at the buoy lines at Mexico Beach."
