Newspaper obituary:
Mrs. Sarah Frances Deshong died at the home of a son, J. Roy Deshong of Everett on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1952. She was born in Crystal Springs Oct. 9, 1867, the daughter of Joshua and Sarah Hoop [Barton]. She was married to Preston Deshong August 12, 1884. She is survived by three sons: Howard B., Martin H. and J. Roy Deshong, and a daughter, Mrs. Earl Hinish, all of Everett. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren. She was a member of the Methodist church. Funeral services: Friday afternoon, Jan. 2, 1953, at 2:30 o'clock, at the Tecumseh Methodist Church, with the Rev. Clyde E. Way and the Rev. Coy Foor officiating. Interment in the Everett Cemetery.

Preston Dishong's name has been spelled in sources as Dishong or Deshong. His gravestone, most census records and some news articles shows Dishong. On his fathers gravestone, the named is spelled as Deshong.
