"Mrs. Gertrude Boyd Harvey died at 1:30 this morning at her home, 1-1/2 miles north-west of Meadville. Mrs. Harvey had been in failing health six years and seriously ill eight days.

She was born July 16, 1886, in Linn County, daughter of William Alfred and Ida Almeda (Norvell) Borland. She attended Kirby rural school in Linn County. On Oct. 27, 1907, she married Oliver Henry Harvey, who preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1935.

Mrs. Harvey spent her entire life in Linn County. She lived in a farm seven miles north-west of Linneus until moving to a farm near Bedford for s short time. They moved from there to the farm where she was residing at her death. She was a member of Mt Olive Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Alfred Lewis and Robert Lee Harvey of Meadville; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Hazel) Hicks of Chillicothe; five grandchildren and two great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at Mt Olive Baptist Church. The Rev. Lawrence Hammond will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt Olive Cemetery under direction of the Norman Funeral Home." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, April 26, 1961
