DODGE CITY - Kathryn M. Lauber, 86, Dodge City, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at the Manor of the Plains, Dodge City.

She was born June 29, 1917, in Vernon, the daughter of Lee and Jeanette Tannahill Eichorn. She moved to Dodge City in 1942. She served as a housemother for the Delta Tau Delta fraternity at the University of Kansas. She served in a similar capacity at St. Mary of the Plains College. She was a teacher's assistant in the Dodge City Head Start program and a member of the United Methodist Church and the P.E.O Chapter CF of Dodge City.

On June 1, 1938, she married Edwin "Bud" Lauber in Holton. He died in 1968.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Jones, Aurora, Ill.; a son, Robert Lauber, Roscoe, Ill.; a brother, Robert Eichorn, Lafayette, Ind.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Eichorn.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Yates Center Cemetery.
