William's parents were William W. (1838-1920) and Mary Elizabeth Frost (1844-1893) Teal. His father, William, was an immigrant from England. He married Lillian Sandham on 14 Mar 1893 at Dallas County, Iowa. They were the parents of 6 daughters; Marjorie, Haxel, Charlotte, Nellie, Gladys and Gretchen. Apparently, he and Lillian later divorced. William was a teacher and a merchant.

Missing Utica Man Now Dead
W.H. Teal Funeral To Be Held Thursday At Town Where He Was Former Merchant.

Fairfield-W.H. Teal, about 71, former Van Buren county resident at Utica about 35 years ago, died Sunday afternoon at a Chicago hospital.
The body will arrive in Fairfield at 8 a.m. Thursday and will be taken from the Weston Behner funeral home here to the Methodist church at Utica Thursday afternoon for funeral services there at 2 o’clock. Burial will be in Miller Chapel cemetery.
Mr. Teal is survived by his wife, five daughters, a sister and a brother.
Friends of the family say Mr. Teal disappeared 35 years ago after driving a team to Fairfield and had not been heard from since until about a month ago, when he wrote his former wife he was ill. His wife had divorced him and married another man since his disappearance.
