Graveside service for Florence Schaefer, 96, will be today at 10:30 a.m. at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery, followed by memorial service at 11 a.m. at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Ritzville.
Mrs. Schaefer, a longtime resident of Ritzville, died Saturday. Born in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, moved to Ritzville as a child. Attended Ritzville Lincoln School and Ritzville High School.
In 1923 she married Fred Schaefer in Coeur d'Alene. They lived in Odessa, WA, from 1925 to 1939, when they moved back to Ritzville.
Mrs. Schaefer worked at Wentworth Jewelry, Ritzville Drug, Pfann's Pharmacy and Nauditt's Grocery until retirement in 1981. Member of St Marks Episcopal Church, Order of Eastern Star and the Royal Neighbors. Her husband died in 1958.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Schwisow of Ritzville; a son, M. F. ‘Bill' Schafer of Juneau, Alaska; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
