Gilbert - A celebration honoring the life of Samuel Newton Harmon, 87, will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at St. Peters Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Peters Lutheran Church Building Fund. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is in charge. Mr. Harmon passed away September 10, 2006. Born January 1, 1919, in Lexington County, he was a son of the late Earl Elvin Harmon and Lottie Caroline Keisler Harmon. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church and a retired farmer. Mr. Harmon is survived by his wife of 65 years, Roxie Hendrix Harmon of Gilbert; daughter, Becky (Brady Jr.) Porth of Lexington; sons, Gerald (Diann) Harmon and Bob Harmon, both of Gilbert; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his sister, Floy Richardson of White Rock; and sister-in-law, Bernice Harmon of Gilbert.
