Hobart Ford Atkinson (1825-1908)
son of Rochester pioneer William Atkinson, was a Rochester banker who started his career at age 17 as a teller with the Rochester Commercial Bank, and rose to the Presidency of several banks over the course of his lifetime.

Emily Sibley's sister Louise married Hobart F. Atkinson on October 12, 1854, and he became one of the executors of Hiram Sibley’s estate. Hobart & Zilpha Louise had two children. Their daughter Elizabeth S. Atkinson (known as Libbie), was born in 1857, and was a playmate of her Aunt Emily, only two years older. A 2nd daughter, Marie Louise, was born in 1863.

After Zilpha Louise Sibley died, Hobart remarried in 1875 and lived in “Woodside,” across the street from the Hiram Sibley residence at 200 East Avenue.
