Gerald T. Harrison, known as Gerry Harrison, age 67, of Pickford, Michigan, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 as the result of an automobile accident in Chippewa County, Michigan.

He was born August 7, 1942 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, the son of Gerald Alexander Harrison and Theora Emeline (Hughes) Harrison. A lifelong Pickford resident, Gerry graduated from Pickford High School in 1960. He worked in the plumbing and heating business for his entire life, starting as a child helping in his father's business and continuing until the morning of his death as the owner and operator of Gerry's Plumbing and Heating. Gerry would go above and beyond the call to solve plumbing or heating problems for his customers. Many times he was called out during the night or on holidays, to get someone's heat back on, or get their water working. If you had an emergency, he never let you down. Gerry was passing on his lifelong skills to his close friends and apprentices Jared Dyer and Josh Dyer. Gerry was a member of the Pickford Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Pickford Lions Club.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking berries, discussing politics, and was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan.

Gerry was survived by his wife, Betty Jean (Barber) Harrison, whom he married August 6, 1986; daughter, Rhonda (Dale) Tallman of Salem, Oregon; son, Michael (Sandy) Harrison of Grand Rapids, Michigan; stepchildren, Kim (Dave) Floyd of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Kathy (Sam) Arms of Onaway, Michigan, Karen Black of Grand Haven, Michigan, and Kevin Black of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; grandchildren, Jonathan (Holly) Tallman, Sarah Tallman, Emily Tallman, Shane Harrison, Samantha Harrison, Sabrina Harrison, Travis Floyd, Jordan Floyd, Dylan Floyd, Allyson Floyd, and Erica Chamberlin; and three great grandchildren, Ryan, Alex and Tryston Tallman. Also surviving are three sisters, Venitta (Gerald) Hill of Cedarville, Michigan, Kathleen (Steven) Gerrish of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and Kandice (David) Huyck of Milford, Michigan; brother-in-law, Gary (Priscilla) Barber of Gladstone, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.

Gerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracey Lynn Harrison and by his parents.
