Peter Traudt, whose death occurred on Wednesday, was buried Sabbath afternoon in the Stockham cemetery. The funeral services were delayed until Sunday awaiting the arrival of a son from California. Old Mr. Traudt had been sick for a number of months with an acute form of stomach trouble, and had been a great sufferer. The funeral was largely attended and the capacity of the Presbyterian church was found to be inadequate to hold all the people attending – almost four hundred were seated and then many failed to get in. The sermon was preached in German language by the minister of the church of Sutton.
