FORMER WAYNESVILLE WOMAN DIES IN WEST
Mrs. Nancy Jane Marvel, 85, wife of George Marvel, formerly of Waynesville, died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Amy Violett, at Independence, Oregon, Sunday. The funeral was held there Tuesday and the body returned to Waynesville where funeral services will be held in the Methodist Church Saturday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
She was born in Waynesville, April 10, 1850, and spent all her life in this county until moving to Oregon 20 years ago. Shew as twice married. Her first husband was William Shipley, whom she married January 18th, 1884. He died in 1910. Her second marriage was to George Marvel in Oregon, March 11, 1923.
Surviving are the husband and four children, Mrs. Amy Violett; George and Frank Shipley, of Oregon, and William Shipley, of Waynesville; also fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. There are also several brothers surviving, who reside in Nebraska and California.
