Frank served as a First Lieutenant and Navigator on a B-17G #44-6794, 840th Bomber Squadron, 483rd Bomber Group, 15th Air Force, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided at 5 Vining Lane, Westhaven, New Castle County, Wilmington, Delaware prior to the war.

B-17G #44-6794 took off, with a crew of 10, from Sterparone, Italy on a bombing mission over the Oil Refinery located in Ruhland, Germany. The were hit & shot down over their target by ground anti-aircraft and crashed near Ruhland. The entire crew was lost.

Frank was "Killed In Action" on this bombing mission during the war.

He was first declared as "Missing In Action" but his remains were later found.

He had served with the Air Corps for one year and nine months at the time of his death.

He was decorated with the Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
