John Decker Arndt III, 61, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, in Arlington. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Tuesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Pkwy., Arlington. John was born Dec. 6, 1948, in Dallas to John and Charlie Burton Arndt. He graduated from Bryan Adams High School. John was a longtime resident of Arlington, having moved here in 1985. He worked for Steel Fabrications and the Texas Department of Transportation. John loved the Marine Corps and proudly served his country. He had a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by an older sister, Jane Stitzel. Survivors: Sons, Robert Arndt and wife, Jennifer, Joseph Arndt and James Arndt; sisters, Bobbie Scirratt, Pat Lewis and Wanda Stretcher; and three grandchildren.
