Funeral services were held at the Deering Methodist Church last week for Benjamin Beckham Dye of Hayti, who died suddenly on July 29 at the age of 49 years. Mr. Dye was born in Blackford, Ky., the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Houston Dye and moved to this county in 1909, living in both Braggadocio and Deering for some years and moving to Hayti last June.
The Rev. George Sparling of Salem, Missouri, conducted the service and burial was in East Woodlawn Cemetery, Hayti, with Valhalla Funeral Home service.
Mr. Dye is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gladys Grisham Dye of Hayti; six daughters, Mrs. Florence Morrow of Cape Girardeau and Misses Mary Margaret, Betty Frances, Rebecca Lela, Dorothy Elizabeth and Alice Lee Dye, all of the home; one brother, Jack Dye of Hayti; and one sister, Mrs. Hugh Ash of Cincinnati, Ohio.
