AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Sherry Lynn Mitchum Barnett, 54, wife of 28 years to B.J. Barnett entered into rest, Friday, September 3, 2010, at University Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM., in the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Pastor Jeff Hines officiating. Mrs. Barnett was born in Elizabeth City, NC. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was a Office Assistant for the Medical College of Georgia. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceeded in death by her father Herman Mitchum. Other survivors include her mother, Janie Riddick Mitchum of Augusta; sister, Wanda Barnett and her husband Randy; brother Larry Mitchum and his wife Cindy all of Grovetown; nieces and nephews, Amanda Barnett, Mitch Barnett, Paula Rhodes, Corey Jones, McKenzie Jones, Dana Lonaker, Shaun Coburn; great neices and nephews, Dylan, Tyler and Ayla Lonaker. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 A.M., until the hour service.
