Funeral services for Mr. Wilmore J. Desselles will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marksville with Father Abraham Varghese officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum #2. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville. Mr. Desselles, age 90 of Marksville, passed away at the VA Nursing Home in Pineville on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010.
Mr. Desselles was a veteran and operated a grocery store for many years in the Spring Bayou community of Marksville.
He is preceded in death by 1 daughter,Gloria Ann Brouillette, 1 brother, Foster Desselles, 4 sisters, Lillian Brouillette, Florence Bordelon, Ina N. Paciello & Elvadine Bordelon.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Uda Marie Desselles of Marksville, 1 daughter, Jeannie Marie Edwards & husband Bobby of Pineville, 1 son, Mickey P. Desselles & wife Edwina (Sis) of Marksville, 10 Grandchildren, Tamara A. Brouillette, Robbin M. LaBorde, Suzanne M. Wilson, Nikki D. McNeel, Ashley R. Starkey, Todd J. Edwards, Brett T. Edwards, Cindy L. Desselles, Mark P. Desselles, Guy M. Desselles & 16 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010 from 5 :00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. & reopen Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. until shortly before service time. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
