Taliesin Whimpey "Tally" Evans was the son of Taliesin Thomas Evans and Emily Jane Whimpey. He married Hannah Naylor on August 14, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were the parents of Catherine, Hannah, Norman Naylor and Gerald Naylor Evans. Hannah died in 1955, and Tally married Kisten Elore Jensen (Webb) on August 28, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

TALIESIN WHIMPEY EVANS

Taliesin Whimpey Evans, 93, died June 10, 1991, in Price.

He was born June 14, 1897, in Castle Gate, Utah, to Taliesin Thomas and Emily Jane Whimpey Evans. He married Hannah Naylor August 14, 1918, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died October 3, 1955. He later married Kisten Webb August 28, 1956. He worked in the coal mining industry for many years, and was instrumental in establishing the union in this area. He lost his hand in a cave-in while working in a mine in Columbia. He also worked in mines in Castle Gate, Spring Canyon, and in Sunnyside, where he also worked in the coke ovens. He was an active High Priest in the LDS Church, where he served in the Sunday School program, in the bishopric and as presiding elder. He had a beautiful voice and sang at many programs.He is survived by: His wife, Kisten, Price; children, Catherine Monson, Sunnyside; Norman N. Evans, Cove's Bay, Oregon; Ronald Ray Evans, East Carbon City; one stepson, Billy Webb, Price. He was preceded in death by Gerald N. Evans and Hannah Roberts. Also survived by 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Oscar Evans, Pleasant Grove; Pershing Evans, Logan; sister, Maude McLatchie, North Hollywood, Calif.; Emily Petty, Ogden; Lucille Johnson, Logan.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 14, 1991, at 11 a.m., in the Price North Stake Center. Friends may call Thursday evening, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Fausett Mortuary in Price, and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Price City Cemetery.
