Jennie E. Jett, 91, of Clinton, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Mrs. Jett was a lifetime member of Batley Baptist Church.

She enjoyed walking, working with her flowers, and tending to her chickens.

In addition to her parents, the Rev. James C. Andrews and Emma Etta Disney Andrews, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oral Jett, and two sons-in-law, Ray Timms and Lonas Taylor.

Mrs. Jett is survived by her six children, Retta Faye Adkins and husband, Bertee, of Richmond, Ky., Hazel Timms of Lavaca, Ark., Shirley Silver and husband, Glenn, of Clinton, Carolyn Jo Taylor of Watkinsville, Ga., Helen Smith and husband, Freddie, of Coalfield, and Kenneth Oral Jett and wife, Regina, of Clinton. Mrs. Jett is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2005, at Batley Baptist Church with the Rev. Luke Kidwell officiating.

The burial followed at the Batley Baptist Church Cemetery.
