In 1911 he is found in Milwaukee, Wisc. living in a facility for disabled volunteer soldiers. He served in the Civil War Co. C 3rd Iowa Inf after enlisting 8 Jun 1861 and being discharged 18 Jun 1864, serving his enlistment period of 36 months. He died 11 Jun 1912 in WI.
