Nancy M. Baker

ST. GEORGE - Nancy M. Baker, 53, passed away, Monday, July 10, 2006 at home. She was born February 6, 1953 in Fillmore, Utah, to Norman J and Corinne Maycock Muir. Nancy married Patrick K. Baker on June 25, 1971 in the Saint George Temple. Nancy was raised in Beaver, Utah, and graduated from Beaver High School in 1971. She lived in Beaver, Provo, Payson, Cedar City, Delta, Pocatello, and Saint George.

Nancy has always been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as Primary President three times, Young Women's President twice, and in many other presidencies and positions throughout her life. She worked hand in hand with her husband, Pat, at their insurance agency. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Nancy loved to travel the world and visited many places such as Hong Kong, China, Korea, France, Canada, and Hawaii. She always found the positive in people, and loved children.

Nancy is survived by Pat Baker, her husband of 35 years, of Saint George. She is also survived by her daughter Kariann and her husband Jared Atkin of Woods Cross; her son Spencer and his wife Heidi M. Baker of Woods Cross; her daughter Raquel Baker of Saint George; her daughter Natalie and her husband Michael Wiest of Saint George; her son Jordan Baker of Saint George, who recently returned from the Tokyo Japan South Mission; her sister Esther Jane Carter of Las Vegas; her brother Layne Muir of Saint George; and her five grandsons: Creighton J. Atkin, Colton J. Atkin, Kieran G. Atkin, Torien P. Baker, and Trevan S. Baker.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Angela Baker, her father Norman J Muir, her mother Corinne Maycock Cole, and her brother Randall J Muir. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shadow Mountain Ward Chapel, 124 North Valley View Drive in Saint George, Utah. There will be a viewing at Spilsbury Mortuary on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 from 6:30 to 9:00 P.M., and again the following morning at the LDS chapel located at 124 North Valley View Drive from 9:30 to 10:45 A.M. Interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver, Utah.
