Daughter of James Hunting and Elizabeth Kings Hunting.

Married #1: William Smith, 1844 in Himbleton, Worcestershire, England. He died in 1870.
They immigrated to Utah in 1868.
Children: Alfred, Maria, Elizabeth, Emma, Harriet, William, Anne, Amelia, Thomas.

Married #2: Henry Reynolds, 1874 in Salt Lake City, Utah. No children.

Hannah's name appears as Smith on this memorial as the Smith marriage was the only legally recognized marriage. She was married in a polygamous situation with Henry Reynolds as a multiple wife. Henry Reynolds called her Roseannah as he had two wives named Hannah. She left his common housing in Wanship, Utah, and returned to Salt Lake in about 1890. She lived next door to her daughter Emma Smith Arnold and Emma's husband John Arnold. Their children knew her as Grandma Smith.

Note: Her name as on her death certificate is: Roseannah Reynolds (see copy). Her name on the cemetery records is: Roseanna Reynolds.

"Deseret Evening News, Friday, September 27, 1912

DEATH OF MRS. REYNOLDS.
Mrs. Rosannah Reynolds, 90 years of age, died of general debility at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Langston, 769 Second East street, at 5:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. Reynolds was a native of England, having been born in Lancashire [Worcestershire], Nov. 30, 1823. She came to Utah with her parents, Joseph [James] and Elizabeth Kings Hunting, in September, 1868. [Note: James and Elizabeth Hunting came to Utah in 1853. Hannah traveled to Utah in 1968 with her husband, William Smith, and their children. They settled originally in South Cottonwood near Hannah's parents.]

Mrs. Reynolds is survived by five children: Mrs. Elizabeth Langston, Mrs. Ann Rigby and William H. Smith of this city [Salt Lake], and Mrs. Amelia Wilson and Thomas Smith of Wanship. The funeral will be held Sunday, at 2 o'clock p.m. at the Third ward meetinghouse."
