Paul Douglas Roe, 60, of Roanoke, Va., on the morning of September 2, 2010, left us peacefully and quietly. Paul was a long-time resident of the Roanoke and Vinton area. Anyone who knew Paul was rewarded with a kind and generous life-long friend. Paul's passion in life besides his life-long friends and family were baseball and softball. He spent many years in the Roanoke Valley on numerous teams and was among the stars of the game. He was predeceased by father, Roy Vernon Roe and stepmother, Betty Alice Roe. Paul is survived by his son, Charlie Roe; mother, Lenora A. Caplan; sisters, Susan Ball and Melissa Roe; brother, Mike Roe; nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. A private celebration of Paul's life will be held at a later date. Shirley Cram, Paul's true soulmate, wishes to send a special note of gratitude to Paul's most dearest friends and caregivers, Andy, Gayle, Jerry, Amy, Mary and his most beloved four legged friend, Lexi.
