MARION: Kenneth W. Ruhl, Jr., went home to be with the Lord on September 1,
2010. His last hours were spent peacefully with his family at his side.

He was born in Marion, Ohio on December 28, 1931 to the late Kenneth W. and
Thelma Ruhl Sr. and was a lifelong resident of the Marion area.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois E. (Patrick/ Elswick) Ruhl, and
is survived by their son, Gary; and daughter, Carol; as well as her two sons,
Daniel and James.

He was also preceded in death by his step daughter, Cindy (Melvin)
Basinger/Swisher.

Kenny worked for the Erie, Erie-Lackawana, and ConRail railroads for 43 years
and retired in 1994. He was a member of the Marion Loyal Order of the Moose 889.

He was a man who liked the simple pleasures in life, a visit with family and
friends, a quiet meal or a lively evening with the grandchildren.
Inheriting the love for the outdoors from his father, he enjoyed boating,
camping, fishing and hunting with his sons, grandsons and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Helen N. (Toni) (Byers/Basinger) Ruhl; son, Gary
Ruhl of Marion, Ohio; daughter, Carol (Terry) Radcliff of Marion, OH; 20
grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; a brother, John (Fani, {Fa 'Nee}) Ruhl of
Palm Bay, FL; sisters, Karen (Richard) Frazier of Nebraska, and Patricia
(Raymond) Winters of Marion, OH; stepsons by Lois Ruhl, Daniel E. (Linda S.)
Elswick of Marion, OH, and James E. (Linda K.) Elswick of New Bloomington, OH;
and stepsons by Helen Ruhl, Jerry (Minah) Basinger of Zanesville, OH, and Donald
(Elizabeth) Basinger of St. Mary, OH; an aunt, Donna (Ruhl) Porter of Columbus,
OH; numerous nieces and nephews; and Carol Fallon of Marion, OH who for his last
18 years was like a daughter.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 at
Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 8,
2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Reverend Steve Jobe will officiate the
service. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery.
