Gilbert Joseph Gibson, 79, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 1988 at his home in Frankfort, Kansas.
He was born on April 10, 1909 at Frankfort, Kansas,the son of John T. and Lulu (Lefler) Gibson. He attended Frankfort Elememtary School and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1927.
Mr. Gibson was shop foreman and linotype operator for the Frankfort Index newspaper for fifteen years and later helped his bro- thers in their faming operations.
Mr. Gibson was a member of the United Methodist Church in Frankfort.
Gilbert enjoyed all sports activities. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as gardening and maintaining his home.
He was a devoted brother and uncle, who took great pleasure in his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Giles, Glen and Grant; his sisters, Gailie and Garnet.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Grace Jones, Norwalk, Connecticut, Mrs. Gerald- ine Meeks, Marysville, Kansas, and Gretchen Gibson, Frankfort, Kansas; two brothers, George Gibson Sr. Topeka,Kansas Grover, Gibson, Frankfort, Kansas, nieces and nephews and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 1988 from the United Methodist Church in Frankfort with Reverend John Burgreen officiating.
Burial was in the Frankfort Cemetery, Frankfort, Kansas.
Pallbearers were a nephew and great nephews, George and Michael Farrell, John and Harry Meeks, Glen Gibson and George Gibson Jr.
