He moved to Adel with his parents in the 20's where his father operated a shingle mill on No Man's Friend for several years. By early 1930 the family had moved to Berrien Co where he met and married Doris Irene Luke. They married on 8 Apr 1944 in Hamilton Co. FL., and remained married until his death in 1995.

He moved his wife and children back to Cook County in 1952 where he farmed for several years before going to work for the DOT State of GA as a heavy equipment operator.
He worked as a builder for Jim Walter Homes, and he later built homes as a private builder. He was owner-operator of Adel Tire and Recapping. He was the creator and owner- operator Adel Pipe and Supply, and Cribb Marine MFG, Inc. which he sold to his daughters when he retired in 1986.

Survived by Doris, his wife of 51 years, and 2 daughters.
