Barnes, Verlin "Fax", 86, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 7, 2010 in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born March 11, 1924 in Turpin, OK to Thomas and Carrie Barnes.

Fax was a loving husband and father whose favorite pastime was gardening. He served in the United States Army during WWII in the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign in military intelligence. He retired as a self-employed trim contractor. He had a great love for Christ and enjoyed fellowship with family and friends.

Fax is survived by his wife of 62 years, Emily Barnes of the home; two daughters, Vikki Malone and husband Tom of Walden, NY and Robyn Belew and husband Mike of Tuttle, OK; one brother, Carl Barnes and one sister, Doris Carson both of Turpin, OK; three grandchildren, Lyndsey Worth, Lysa McKinley and Landon Worth; and three great grandchildren, Ayden McKinley, Kylie McKinley and Jackson Worth. He was preceded in death by his son Brent.
