Mrs. Pittman was born July 20, 1916 in LaFontaine, Kans. to Wesley and Rachel (Laird) Westrope. She was raised and educated in LaFontaine.
On May 30, 1939 she married Carl Pittman in Las Animos, Colo. She worked as a telephone operator for the McCray Telephone Company for many years. Mrs. Pittman was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church, Independence. She was also the secretary for the Carpenters Union Local #1198 in Independence.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Max Pittman of Neodesha; a brother, Clair Westrope of Tulsa; a sister, Opal Shipley of Sperry, Okla.; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Webb and Rodrick Funeral Home Chapel, Independence. Burial will be at the Neodesha City Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 8 a.m. until service time at the Webb and Rodrick Funeral Home.
The family has suggested a memorial to the Wilson County Hospital Foundation, Neodesha. Memorials may be left with the funeral home.
