Lou Ealer suffered from severe skin cancer of the face. She and her brother Stevie (Stephen Myers Joyner, Jr.) both suffered from skin cancer, and they helped take care of each other due to their failing health. Neither had children, Stevie never married, and LouEaler never married again.
