Reuben Eddie Stewart, 20, of Vaiden, was killed April 6 when struck by a car while working for a construction company in Macon, Georgia. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Stewart of Vaiden.

He was a native of Vaiden and a member of Vaiden Baptist Church. He had served two years in the Navy.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, April 9, at Vaiden Baptist Church, Rev. J.A. Wade and Rev. Nelson Wade officiating. Winona Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his father, Dudley Stewart, and his mother, Mrs. Bessie Chesteen Stewart, both of Vaiden; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Gill, Huntsville, Alabama, and Mrs. Era Stone, West; two brothers, Wesley (Buddy) Stewart, Huntsville, Alabama, and Hillard (Shorty) Stewart, Topeka, Kansas, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hillard Chesteen, of Kilmichael.

Pallbearers were Jerry Alford, Duard Stewart, Randy Stewart, Wayne Tate, Bobby Perry, and James Grogan. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Rhine, Wayne McCorkle, Larry Self, and Bill Stewart.
