Ray Dean Sharp, 65, of Clay City, died at 1 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 2010, at his residence.

Ray was born August 24, 1945 to Melvin and Luella Mae Mitchell Sharp. He married Delores Sharp on November 11, 2000. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army in Vitenam. Ray worked road construction and was a member of the Clay City Church of God, VFW, and the American legion of Flora.

He is survived by his wife and his mother.

Preceding him in death were his father and brother, Marvin.

Services were held at the Church of God with Pastor Rob Bowker officiating.

Burial was in Clay City Cemetery. Full military rites were conducted by Clay County veterans.

Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Clay County Hospice.
