Mrs. Mary Maureen Cheek, 88, left to be with the Lord, Saturday January 22, 2000 from Sardis Nursing Home in Charlotte. Mrs. Cheek has a lifelong love of flowers and loved working with them in her yard. She was always doing for others, visiting friends, and taking summer beach trips with her family. Mrs. Cheek was a longtime member of Tabernacle ARP Church, the Fellowship-Friendship Bible Class, Circle #3, the Women's Bible Society and the Senior Adult Pathfinders. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian G. Cheek. She touched many lives, but none more than her children and brothers. Mrs. Cheek was the dearly beloved mother of Barbara Bagwell, Judy Shepard, and Johnny Cheek and was the sister of Hartis Mullis, all of Charlotte. She had five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
