Henry Sabel, 97, of R. 1, Malone, a lifelong resident of Fond du Lac County with 136 direct descendants, died at his home Friday afternoon.
He was born Jan. 25, 1865, at Taycheedah, the son of John and Mary Sabel, and was married to Anna Schmitz at Johnsburg April 23, 1888. Mrs. Sabel died Feb. 21, 1925.
Mr. Sabel was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Johnsburg, and the Holy Name Society.
Surviving are four sons, Serv and Roman, both of Johnsburg, Gregor, Mt. Calvary, and Hugo, of St. Peters; four daughters, Mrs. William Kohlmann, Sheboygan Falls, Mrs. Richard Stephanie, Plymouth, and Mrs. Alois Abler and Mrs. Albert Diederich, both of St. Peters; 38 grandchildren and 90 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Lisowe Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and at 10:30 at St. John's Church, Johnsburg, with the Rev. Robert Bier, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Sunday.
The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 o'clock Sunday and Monday evenings.
