On Dec. 25, 1717 of record at Windham, Conn., John Kingsley, Jr. m. Elizabeth Bass, the oldest child of John Bass and Elizabeth Neal(e), b. of record Sept. 5, 1696 at Braintree, Mass. She d. between Nov. 8, 1753, the date of her receipt to brother Henry for division of their father's estate, and Feb. 9, 1754, the date husband John Kingsley gave a receipt to Henry Bass, calling Elizabeth "my former wife."
John and wife Elizabeth are assumed interred in the Old Scotland (North) cemetery in present-day Scotland, Conn., but no known gravestones existed for either of them in the 1930s when the cemetery was first inventoried. John and Elizabeth (Bass) Kingsley had nine children b. of record at Windham, Conn., a summary of whom will be added later.
