Marilyn Lee Duvall, age 77, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 9:45 a.m. in Washington County Hospital Extended Care, Nashville, IL.
Marilyn was born on June 21, 1933 in Richmond, IN, a daughter to Clyde and Beulah Lacey. On August 13, 1952, she married Earl D. Duvall in Richmond, IN and he survives. She was busy during the children's growing years as a mother, housewife and companion to her husband. She had worked as a secretary at Decca Records in Richmond, IN. After the children's early childhood, she worked as a secretary for the Woosley Lumber Company, then as a secretary at the Pinckneyville High School and 15 years in customer service at U.S. Gypsum. Marilyn united with the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL in 1958. She was an active and faithful member for the rest of her life, serving in various capacities – as a teacher, a member of a group that served international students, on the Counting Committee, a VBS helper, and as a dedicated participant of the Clothes Closet Program. Marilyn was an excellent seamstress and over the years made many clothes for her daughters, including helping with a couple of wedding gowns. During her retirement years, Marilyn and her husband were able to spend many months on the Gulf Coast.
Marilyn leaves behind her husband, Earl D. Duvall of Pinckneyville, IL; four children, Diane (Scott) Weaver of Schaumburg, IL, Laura (Jim) Bauersachs of Nashville, IL, Deborah (Larry) Keathley of Van Buren, MO, and Curtis (Lynda) Duvall of Bedford, TX; a sister, Phyllis Null of Centerville, IN; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, September 6, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Brother Tim Bauersachs officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday, September 5, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
