Charles D. Griggs
Married three times
Not to be confused with other Griggs families — this is the Aspinwall–Griggs family from Brookline and Brighton in today's Norfolk and Suffolk counties, Massachusetts. Nathaniel Griggs was a descendant of Margaret Weld and Nathaniel Brewer II. Nathaniel Griggs (son of Joshua and Martha Wilson Griggs) married Joanna Aspinwall, daughter of Lt. Col. Thomas Aspinwall and Lucy Sparhawk Aspinwall. Joanna Aspinwall and Nathaniel Griggs had a son, Nathaniel Aspinwall Griggs. He married Nancy Dearborn.
Charles Henry Dearborn Griggs was the son of Nancy Dearborn and Nathaniel Aspinwall Griggs. Grandson of Sallie and Sherwood Dearborn; and of Joanna Aspinwall and Nathaniel Griggs.
Father of Gertrude I. Griggs Ridgeway. Her mother was Elizabeth Ann Whitney Griggs. Gertrude was the wife of Philip R. Ridgeway. Probable child of Gertrude I. Griggs and Philip R. Ridgeway: Baby Ridgeway. Likely the Ridgeway family of husband Philip R. Ridgeway (note also the Shepherd name) —

ASPINWALL FAMILY IN FLORIDA and GEORGIA:
Both Charles Henry Dearborn Griggs and
William Henry Freeman, Sr. lived and died at Daytona Beach, Volusia County, Florida. His sister Hattie Eliza Freeman married Aspinwall descendant Thomas Brewer Benson. He was the eldest son of
Catherine Elizabeth Brewer and Richard Aaron Benson.
Thomas Brewer Benson's grandfather Thomas Aspinwall Brewer was the son of Joanna Aspinwall Griggs's sister Catharine Sparhawk Aspinwall and Edward Brewer — and so Thomas Aspinwall Brewer was a first cousin to Nathaniel Aspinwall Griggs.
Charles Henry Dearborn Griggs of Daytona Beach, Florida, was the son of Nancy Dearborn and Nathaniel Aspinwall Griggs — the son of Thomas Aspinwall Brewer's aunt Joanna Aspinwall and Nathaniel Griggs.
Descendants of Lucy Sparhawk and Lt. Col. Thomas Aspinwall:
Thomas Aspinwall Brewer and Nathaniel Aspinwall Griggs were first cousins. Another of their first cousins was Thomas Aspinwall Davis, 10th Mayor of Boston, Massachusetts. Mayor Davis was the son of Ebenezer Davis III and Lucy Aspinwall Davis Holden — his father Ebenezer Davis III was a nephew of
Governor Increase Sumner of Massachusetts.
Charles Henry Dearborn Griggs also went to Daytona Beach, Florida. Charles D. Griggs (Charles Henry Dearborn Griggs) was from Brighton, Massachusetts. He had three wives, and lived in Daytona Beach with his third wife Abigail Evelyn "Abbie" Griggs.

Also in Georgia was the family of Edward White. This Edward White, called Major Edward White, married Mildred Scott Stubbs. They lived at Savannah where this Major Edward White is buried. The children of Edward and Mildred Scott "Millcie (or Millie)" Stubbs White were born in Georgia. Some of their descendants also went to Florida. In Georgia, Edward and Mildred Scott Stubbs children and grandchildren knew and visited with the family of Thomas Aspinwall Brewer — Thomas Aspinwall Brewer was the first cousin of Nathaniel Aspinwall Griggs, father of Charles Henry Dearborn Griggs.
