Joseph Backes, young farmer of Dresden vicinity, died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Backes, near Dresden, Monday morning, November 3, 1930, and was buried in the cemetery adjoining the Lutheran church north of Dresden after services at the home and church Wednesday afternoon.
Joseph Backes was born 27 years ago at the John Backes family home near Dresden. He was reared in the community, and until this season farmed near Dresden. During the past year he became afflicted with tuberculosis and spent several months at the sanatorium at San Haven, coming home about a month ago.
