Kathryn "Kakie" Stewart Rodgers, 111 Woodland Avenue, Lexington, died Monday, December 8, 2003 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Duncan S. Stewart, Sr., and her second husband, Rufus G. Rodgers. Kakie was born June 5, 1920 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of John and Lillian Harrison Kirk. She was a member of The Lexington Club, The Keeneland Club and The Thoroughbred Club. She was a former member of Idle Hour Country Club, Delray Beach Yacht Club, St. Andrews Club and Gulfstream Bath and Tennis Club. She is survived by her son Duncan S. Stewart, Jr and wife Sandie, Lexington; her daughter Virginia H. Bailey, and husband Bill, Herrington Lake; stepchildren Rosemary and Peter Rodgers, Newport Beach, CA; a brother Kenneth S. Kirk, Louisville. Honorary pallbearers will be W.T. Bishop III, Lucy Milward deMovellan, Ralph Kercheval, Hal Kercheval, Randy Kemper, Monnie Gay Long, Donald McGurk, Harry B. Miller Jr, Douglass Owens and Charles Risdon III. Graveside services will be 11 AM Thursday at the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Wednesday at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Broadway. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or one's favorite charity.
