John Rose Hill, 63, a former resident of the Lexington-Purcell area, died Saturday in Oklahoma City, where he had lived for some time. He was a native of Oklahoma and was a member of the Kentucky Avenue Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Uoakum Memory chapel, with Rev. Sartain officiating. Interment was in the Lexington cemetery.

Hill is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home in Oklahoma City; a daughter, Jimye Faye, Oklahoma City, a son, John Robert Hill, Oklahoma City; two brothers, Carl and Marvin, both of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Mrs. V.L. Jones and Mrs. C.A. Whitlock, both of Tucson, Ariz.; Mrs Woods Bowlan, Tupelo, Miss.; three grandchildren.

Casket bearers were Walter Evans, Al Lee, Mr. Terry, J.D. Lee, Mr. Carter and Virgil Brown.

Born in Corbett Community, Cleveland County, he was a retired car salesman.
