__James Cross, 54, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after a sudden illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Anamosa. Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where a Scripture service begins at 7:30 p.m.
__Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen; and two children, Tim and Kim, both of Anamosa.
__Also surviving are his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Sally (Dave) Wolfe, Maggie Eige, Ed (Andi) Davidson, all of Cedar Rapids, Mary Davidson of Marion and Pat (Fred) Cornwell of Anita.
__He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertle and Augusta Cross, and a brother, Chester.
__Jim was employed as a glass finisher at Maax Midwest.
__He was a gentle man called Jimbo and most of all Daddy.
