Auto Injuries Claim

A Utah Highway Department title examiner died Monday at 1:10 p.m. in a Salt Lake hospital of injuries suffered in an auto accident near Farmington Feb. 19.

THOMAS DONALD Creer, 58, 295 Mountain View Dr. (4750 South), Murray, was injured on U.S. Highway 91 at the State Street intersection in Farmington.

Trooper Thomas Calderwood, Utah Highway Patrol, said Mr. Creer's auto collided with a pickup truck driven by Delmar L. Hill, Route 1, Driggs, Idaho.

MR. CREER WAS westbound on State, Trooper Calderwood said, and was driving alone in a state-owned car. Mr. Hill suffered a scraped knee, but none of the four passengers in his truck were injured.

Mr. Creer was a title examiner in the right-of-way division of the Utah Highway Department.

An active Republican, he was a candidate for Salt Lake County attorney in 1954 and a candidate for district judge in 1948.

He has been a county and state convention delegate, and a member of the state and Salt Lake County central committees.

AT THE TIME of death; Mr. Creer was president of the Murray Lions Club.

In 1942 he was appointed an attorney for the Corps, of Army Engineers and later was named legal representative for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint's General Church Welfare Committee.

IN 1946 HE was the Salt Lake area attorney for the War Assets Administration.

Since 1947 he has been a practicing attorney in Salt Lake City and Bingham Canyon, and has served as Bingham Canyon city attorney.

AN ACTIVE member of the LDS Church, he served a mission to France from 1927 to 1929, during which time he was president of the Lyons, France, and the Geneva, Switzerland, mission branches.

He also had served as president of the Spokane Branch of the Northwestern States Mission and as bishop of the East Midvale LDS Ward.

HE WAS BORN Aug. 30, 1903, in Spanish Fork, a son of Thomas Oliver and Mary Caroline Jones Creer. He married Beatrice Ellen Simper on Aug. 30, 1933, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Surviving him are his widow; a son, Thomas D. Creer, Murray; a brother, Dr. Leland Creer, Salt Lake City, and a sister, Mrs. Jesse B. (Minnie) Sharp, Salt Lake City.
