Charles L. 'Chuck' Baggarly
Charles "Chuck" Baggarly, 59, of Maceo went to his heavenly home after a valiant four-year struggle with cancer on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at his home. He was born Jan. 16, 1948, to the late Floyd Ree and Mary Elizabeth Benton Baggarly in Ohio County. He was a member of Masonville United Methodist Church and a former member of Dundee Masonic Lodge.He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, stationed on Okinawa, where he was a metalsmith-maintenance man on C-130 Hercules aircraft He worked for 13 years for Peabody Coal Co. at Alston Surface Mine and for General Electric for about eight years. Music had been a big part of his life. He played in many different bands locally and while in the service. He was an original member of the rock 'n' roll band The Chevelles and was a bass guitar player with the original members at Goldie's Best Little Opryhouse in Kentucky. He loved all types of motorsports. University of Kentucky basketball and riding motorcycles. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Belinda Ann Man gum, in February 1996.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Whitworth Baggarly, his daughters, Becky Callaway and her husband, Eric, of Powhatan,
