She was born Dec. 1, 1917, in Washburn, N.D., the daughter of Margaret and Peter Hoff. She grew up and graduated from high school in North Dakota. After graduation she moved to Fergus Falls and was employed at the Old Log Cabin Restaurant in Fergus Falls.
Esther enjoyed her family, gardening, baking, reading and crossword puzzles. She was a member of Tordenskjold Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aide.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orris; six siblings; and her daughter-in-law, Debora (Spangler) Albertson.
She is survived by her son, Larry Albertson, Underwood; granddaughter, Tracy (Steven) Smedsrud, Underwood; two great-granddaughters, Debora and Elizabeth; and a sister, Freida Orman, Turtle Lake, N.D.
Visitation: Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church Service: 1 p.m Thursday at Tordenskjold Lutheran Church, rural Underwood Clergy: Rev.
