Lenora M. (Ecoffey) Dowty, aged 70, died May 2, 2008, in Hot Springs, South Dakota.

Lenora was survived by four sons, Clarence Dowty Jr., Joseph Dowty, Robert Dowty, and James Dowty; one daughter, Tammy (Dowty) Kahler; two adopted daughters, Amanda Dowty and Lydia Dowty; four brothers, Raymond Ecoffey, Stanford Salway, Medford Salway, and Stacey Salway; two sisters, Sharon Fay (Ecoffey) Bales, and Lynn Mousseaux; twenty grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

A one-night wake was held, beginning on May 8th, at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Funeral services were the next day, May 9th, at the hall, with the Reverend Steve Sanford officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery of Hot Springs. The Sioux Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include five sons, Raymond Ecoffey, Hot Springs, Robert Morrison, Pine Ridge, Medford Salway, Chinlee, Arizona., Stanford "Buck" Salway, Window Rock, Arizona., and Stacy "Luck" Salway, Tucson, Arizona; three daughters, Lenora Dowty, Hot Springs, Sharon Bales, Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Lynn Mousseaux, Pine Ridge; and 121 grandchildren. A one-night wake will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, at Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at Billy Mills Hall, with the Rev. Steve Sanford officiating. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Pine Ridge. Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
